What if I’m interested in your program, but I’m still in school or currently working?
The first 13 weeks of training are setup for the evenings which would allow you to balance other work or studies. If you are accepted into the training program, the expectation is you will make yourself available for full time employment following the initial 13 week training period.
Where will the training occur?
Training will be based out of a location in downtown Winnipeg and in a location in The Pas. The instructor will be based in Winnipeg but program participants from both communities will be training together at the same time utilizing video conferencing and collaboration tools.
What type of work will I be doing following the initial training?
We have identified work opportunities in the areas of software development, software testing and desktop management and support. We will be matching opportunities with the participants based on areas of interest and location. The goal is to provide all participants with varied work experiences to allow them to put what they have learned into practice.
How should I prepare for my interview?
Bring along the usual information (resume, work experience and samples, etc.) – but there’s more to it than that. We want to know about your interests, your goals, and what’s made you happy in previous jobs. We’ll share our story with you, and ask you about yours. Basically, come ready for a conversation, not just a verbal retelling of your resume. We want to understand how we can help you start your career.
